Tholia is situated on the outskirts of metropolitan Sydney. Having been involved in purebred dogs for what now seems like a lifetime, I am a relative newcomer to English Springer Spaniels having acquired my first - Australian Ch Fraelighte French Lettre - about 11 years ago. It didn't take long for Zac to cement a place in our home and hearts and before I could turn around, I acquired another. A very "special" one - American Ch Ocoee Ravens Child - from Kathy Lorentzen of Ocoee Kennels in Michigan, USA. Raven spent 120 days in quarantine and a mere two weeks after being released, notched up her first Best of Breed. She immediately dropped coat, so out of the ring she came to be mated to the multi BIS winning Ch Fraelighte Flying Intime. This litter produced 3 - two of which went on to become champions and in turn, produce Best In Show winning progeny of their own. They are Grand Ch Tholia TakitTo Themax and Ch Tholia Mirror Mirror |

Exciting show wins are one aspect of breeding dogs, another is the challenge of producing sound, healthy companions. I have had major setbacks over the years which have seen me become very interested in hereditary disease and whilst I could never claim to have all the answers, I sincerely believe that shared experiences, (be they positive or negative) between breeders can only benefit the intelligent and willing breed that is the English Springer Spaniel. |
