Here’s Holly aka Tholia Tried n True: -
     the first T h o l i a to compete in Agility!

Holly is Karen’s very first dog sired by Grand Ch Tholia Takit To Themax out of Ch Tholia Love Child.  Holly began Flyball in late 2003 racing for the Werriwa All Breeds Dog Training Club.

Mid career she switched to Parramatta International Canine Sports (if it’s good for footballers, it’s good for Holly!) and continues to excel. She has achieved 3 Flyball titles and was recently awarded Flyball Dog Champion. Not resting on her laurels, she’s now in training for the ultimate – Australian Flyball Champion.  Go Holly! I’m proud of you.

 WORDS OF WISDOM

Being a dog breeder is fraught with difficulty (I can see dog breeders reading this nodding sagely). Over the years I’ve picked up a few “words of wisdom” that I’d like to share. Hope they make you smile too

"Breeding dogs is like an art class. Your art teacher gives you your tools, your paint and your easel and whatever else you need, and tells you, "This is your project, these are your boundaries. Now create." I think the Standard is like that. The Standard says, "Here are your boundaries." Because people interpret it differently, you can move about, but you must stay in the boundaries. Your creation may be different than mine, but we are both within the boundaries. Breeding dogs is a form of expression with the boundaries set forth by the standard. In order to improve the breed, we all must be able to express ourselves."

                                                                                                                   -JoAnn Davis (ECQ Fall 1996)

                                                                               -o0o-

A spirit of good fellowship should be an integral part of our activity and any exhibitor who misses that misses out on a lot of the fun that goes with good feelings for his fellow fanciers."

-Popular Dogs EC Column by Maurie Prager 1973.

                                                                               -o0o-

The objective of all dedicated [breeders] should be to thoroughly analyse all situations, anticipate all problems prior to their occurrence, have answers for these problems, and move swiftly to solve these problems when called upon.... HOWEVER... When you are up to your arse in alligators, it is difficult to remind yourself your initial objective was to drain the swamp!

                                                                                 -o0o-

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

                                                             -Mark Twain

                                                                                   -o0o-

"Like everything else in this world one can only succeed by hard work and a constantly open mind, for in the animal world one has never finished learning ….”

-Prudence Walker, Reklawholm, (ECQ Fall 1983)
